Real-world outcomes, automatic reschedules, and shared-job alerts — all from a single submit.
Why this matters
Until now, the only outcome an operative could record at the end of a job was “Completed”. In practice, visits often end in something messier — the customer wasn’t home, there was extra work for another day, equipment failed, or the job couldn’t be finished for reasons outside the customer’s control. The scheduling team only found out via phone calls, email threads, or by manually opening appointments one at a time.
Appointment Outcomes closes that gap. Operatives pick what actually happened on submit; schedulers see it on the appointment card; and where another visit is needed, the job drops back into the queue automatically.
At a glance:
- Operatives pick what really happened — not just Completed.
- Schedulers see the outcome on every appointment card.
- Jobs that need another visit drop straight back into the scheduler.
- Shared-job owners are alerted the moment a contractor flags a problem.
For operatives
When you finish a job and tap Submit, you’ll be asked what actually happened. Three new outcomes sit alongside the classic options:
| Outcome | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Completed successfully | Closes the appointment as done |
| Additional work required | Returns the job to the scheduler |
| Job failed | Returns the job to the scheduler |
| Issue unresolved | Returns the job to the scheduler |
| Customer not in / Hazard / No access / Equipment failure | Returns the job to the scheduler |
| Customer requested / Weather / Other | Cancels the appointment |
One tap, one save — the outcome ships with the rest of the job, no extra paperwork.
Reschedules are automatic — if the outcome needs another visit, the appointment lands straight in the scheduler’s queue. No phoning the office, no cancel-and-recreate.
For scheduling teams
Outcomes on the card. Every appointment now shows the outcome the operative picked, alongside its status. Category colours — green for complete, amber for follow-up, red for cancelled — let you triage at a glance.
Jobs Needing Scheduling, auto-populated. Outcomes that need another visit drop into the left-hand panel automatically, with the original operative, when the visit happened, and why it needs to come back.
No more cancel + recreate. Half-done jobs reuse the existing booking — same data, same history, one fewer workaround.
For administrators
Tailor the outcomes your team sees
Each company can tweak the outcome list. For every outcome you control:
- Name — what the operative sees.
- Category — Completed, Requires follow-up, or Cancelled. This drives the pill colour on the scheduler card.
- Returns to scheduler? — when on, any appointment with this outcome is sent back to Jobs Needing Scheduling automatically.
Existing cancellation reasons keep working — they’ve just been re-categorised so the new behaviour applies cleanly. Four new follow-up outcomes (Completed successfully, Additional work required, Job failed, Issue unresolved) are seeded for every company.
Shared-job alerts
On shared jobs — where one company executes work on behalf of another — there’s a new setting: Shared job — outcome requires action. Add the email addresses that should be notified when a contracted operative reports a non-Completed outcome. You’ll only hear about your own shared jobs, and only when there’s something to act on.
