Field operatives can see and tick a job’s checklist items from the installHUB mobile app, with or without signal. This guide explains which items show, how ticking and photo evidence work, and what happens to ticks made offline.
Which items field operatives see
Open a job in the app and the Checklist card lists the items needed for the visit the field operative is on, such as “Kit delivered to site” or “Customer handover signed”. Only items marked Shown to field operatives in the checklist item settings appear, and items that don’t apply to the job are hidden. Items with an expiry show Valid until and the date.
Ticking an item
Items ticked by hand have a box the field operative can tap.
- If the item needs evidence, the app says A photo is required to tick this item. and the operative taps Take photo. It can’t be ticked without one.
- Otherwise the app asks Add a photo as evidence? and the operative can Take photo or Tick without photo.
- To take back a tick that has already reached the office, tap the item and choose Untick.
Items completed another way show a lock and a label, so the operative knows it’s not theirs to tick: Form, Third party or Office. Field operatives can’t override items from the app.
Ticking without signal
The app works offline. A tick made without signal shows a clock and Not synced yet, and goes through when the phone reconnects. The card’s summary also counts how many ticks haven’t synced yet.
Until it reaches the office, the operative can tap the item and choose Undo tick to take it back, or Keep tick to leave it waiting.
If a tick and its photo couldn’t be sent, tapping the item shows Photo not sent. The tick and photo stay on the phone until the operative chooses Try again or Discard, so nothing is lost by leaving it.
If installHUB doesn’t accept a tick, the item shows the reason in red and the card counts it as not accepted.
How ticks affect the visit
A tick waiting with Not synced yet doesn’t count until it reaches the office. If a visit is waiting on that item, get signal and let it sync. Once it arrives, the visit’s Not ready flag and job alert clear by themselves if nothing else is outstanding.
