A default duration and padding per installation type tells the scheduler how big a slot each job needs, so the diary and customer self-booking book realistic time and jobs stop overrunning or leaving gaps.
Steps
Open Installation Types and click Manage on the type you want:
- Open the Scheduling tab.
- Set the Duration (hours) for a typical job of this type.
- Set Pre-job padding for travel or setup before the job.
- Set Post-job padding for pack-down or travel after the job.
- Check the Total job slot summary. Leave a field blank to inherit the global default.
- Click Save changes.

Two examples
- EV charger: duration 3 hours, post-job padding 30 minutes. The diary books a 3.5 hour slot.
- Solar PV, two-day job: duration 16 hours (two 8 hour days). The scheduler holds enough time across the days rather than squeezing it into one.
