Available on Enterprise
The scheduler mode, called the Automation level, decides how much of your booking installHUB does for you. There are four modes: Manual, Suggest, Review and Auto. This guide shows where to change the mode and what each one means for the office day to day. For the other rules on the same page, such as jobs per day and drive time, see Scheduling rules and automation.
Change the mode
- Open Settings > Scheduling > Scheduling Rules (https://app.installhub.com/admin/settings/scheduling/scheduling-rules).
- Under Automation level, pick a mode from the Automation level list.
- Click Save changes.
The Scheduler (https://app.installhub.com/admin/scheduler) switches to the new mode the next time you open it. Account managers can change the mode, as can anyone whose custom role lets them manage settings.
Suggest, Review and Auto come with route planning on the Enterprise plan. On other plans the list only offers Manual, and the page shows Automate scheduling with Upgrade to Enterprise. If your plan stops including route planning, the mode goes back to Manual.
What each mode does
- Manual: you place every job yourself. The scheduler’s side panel shows Jobs to Schedule with the number unscheduled; drag a job onto an operative or click Schedule.
- Suggest: installHUB proposes an operative and time for each job over the next two weeks, and you decide. The panel shows Suggestions. Click Accept to book one, Skip to pass, or Accept All. Jobs it couldn’t place show a reason and Schedule Manually. Proposals refresh when you open the scheduler, or click Run to refresh them.
- Review: installHUB puts its bookings straight onto the calendar, but the field operative isn’t told yet. A banner shows how many are awaiting your review. In Pending Review, click Confirm to notify the operative, or Reject to take the booking off. Confirm All and Reject All do the lot.
- Auto: installHUB books each job as soon as it’s ready to schedule, within the next two weeks, and notifies the field operative straight away. The Auto-Assign panel shows what’s Assigned, In queue and in Conflict. A job it can’t place shows Scheduling conflict or Waiting for operative availability, and you book it by hand. Click Pause Auto-Assign to stop it for a while, and Resume Auto-Assign to start again.
Every mode follows your scheduling rules, working hours, leave and operative skills. You can still drag, move and book visits by hand in any mode.
Who does the daily work
Admins and account managers accept, skip, confirm and reject proposals, and pause or resume Auto.
Choosing a mode
Start with Suggest to see what installHUB would do. Move to Review when you trust its choices but want a final check, and to Auto when you’re happy for jobs to book themselves.
