Send and track DNO applications

Available now on installHUB

installHUB tells the local network operator (DNO) about a new connection for you, in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This guide covers the DNO Applications list, the two ways to send, switching between them, and how you hear back.

The DNO Applications list

Admins and account managers in the UK find every application under DNO Applications in the main menu (app.installhub.com/admin/dno-applications). Choose columns, save views, filter (for example by job status, including archived jobs) and export the list. Click a row to open the application, or use View Job to go to the job.

On a job, the panel shows as DNO Application when it goes through ENA Connect Direct, or DNO notifications when the G98/G99 forms are emailed.

Two routes

  • ENA Connect Direct sends one application online for the whole install and tracks its status. Most domestic jobs use it.
  • G98/G99 email forms fills in the forms and emails them to the DNO. Commercial jobs always use this route.

Which forms apply depends on the size of the system. G98 is install, then notify. G99 needs the DNO’s approval before you install. installHUB doesn’t stop you starting work, so check which applies before you book the install.

Connections in the Republic of Ireland go to ESB Networks (NC6/NC7), so neither route applies to them.

Switch routes

In the admin portal, use Switch to Email method or Switch to ENA Connect Direct method in the send dialog. In the mobile app, use Switch DNO method at the top of the form, or Switch DNO route in the job menu. Answers already filled in are kept, and come back if you switch back.

You can’t switch once an ENA application has been sent, or once the DNO has been notified by email. Commercial and Irish jobs can’t switch.

Send to the DNO

When a save makes the forms ready, installHUB asks whether to send now. Otherwise use Send to DNO. For the email route, choose which documents to include and check which DNO it goes to. The DNO is worked out from the MPAN; Northern Ireland jobs always go to the Northern Ireland DNO.

For ENA Connect Direct, every required section must be complete first, including the cut-out photo and one New device details section for each device ticked in LCT devices being installed. The send dialog lists anything missing.

MPAN mismatch means the MPAN entered couldn’t be matched to a DNO. Check the number in the form section the warning names.

Status updates, comments and emails

installHUB checks open ENA Connect Direct applications every hour during the working day. Applications that haven’t changed for 30 days stop being checked. Use Fetch latest status (the sync icon) to check straight away.

Once an application is submitted, open it to read the DNO’s comments and use Add comment to reply.

Every status change and new DNO comment is emailed to the people chosen under DNO Application Notifications in Email Notifications. If nobody is chosen, every active user gets them.
